YWCA Ulster County Local Purpose It is the purpose of the YWCA Ulster County to serve women throughout their lifetimes. Our goal is to facilitate the empowerment of women by increasing their educational, economic, political, legal, and social opportunities as well as to advocate for racial justice and human rights. Families Now Families Now is an intensive family preservation program serving families residing in Ulster County, New York. The program’s services are offered by the YWCA Ulster County, which strives to provide intensive family preservation services to families through a variety of interventions. Families Now is designed to offer immediate (at the point of crisis), short-term (up to 6 weeks) services to families with a child or children (up to 18 years) at imminent risk of out-of-home placement or to expedite the youth’s early return to his/her family. It receives prioritized referrals exclusively from the Ulster County Department of Social Services. Family Court A state-of-the-art child care center located at Ulster Family Court, staffed by YWCA teachers and advocates who care for children while parents and caregivers attend to court business. Magic Circle School & Universal Pre-K The Magic Circle School is a New York State-licensed childcare center providing daycare services for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. Located in Uptown Kingston, the school is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. Our certified teachers promote learning through play and structured activities in a safe, age-appropriate, nurturing environment. Bridge to Build is a robust pilot program that seeks to engage two levels of student learners. Our goal is to continue our Early Childhood Education model through UPREK into Kindergarten and beyond by pairing our students with adolescent mentors through the Young Advocates Program’s.
