YASA designs and manufactures highly efficient electric powertrain solutions for hybrid and electric vehicles. For a given power & torque requirement, YASA can deliver significantly smaller, lighter and more efficient electric motors, controllers and integrated electric drive units than any other competing technology. Furthermore, the motor technology is inherently lower cost than the competition when purchased in volume due to the motors exceptionally high utilisation of magnetic material and YASA's advanced manufacturing technology. The high performance YASA motors and controllers are suitable for range of markets and applications, and excel in the toughest environments where efficiency, weight and space are critical for the end-user. In 2018, YASA officially opened its 100,000 unit per annum e-motor and controller serial production facility in Kidlington near Oxford, UK. YASA became a wholly owned subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz in 2021, providing electric motors for Mercedes-Benz’s AMG.EA electric-only platform, while acting as an innovation partner pioneering new electric drive technology for the wider Group.
