www.erso.eeThe Estonian National Symphony Orchestra (ERSO) has become the most prominent Estonian orchestral ambassador abroad. Since 2010, its Chief Conductor and Artistic Director has been Neeme Järvi. The Artistic Adviser of the orchestra is Paavo Järvi. Recently, it was announced that Olari Elts would become ERSO’s Music Director and Chief Conductor from the 2020/2021 season. The current Chief Conductor Neeme Järvi will continue to work with ERSO as Honorary Conductor For Life from next season onwards. The orchestra has played in prestigious venues such as the Konzerthaus Berlin, Musikverein in Vienna, Rudolfinum in Prague, Brucknerhaus in Linz, the David Geffen Hall in New York, the Grand Hall of Saint Petersburg Philharmonia and the Concert Hall of the Mariinsky Theatre, the Kölner Philharmonie, Festspielhaus in Bregenz, Helsinki Music Centre, the Berwaldhallen in Stockholm, and many more – including, of course, their home venue, the Estonia Concert Hall in Tallinn. In 2019, ERSO and Neeme Järvi opened Festival de Radio France et Montpellier. The high quality of the recordings of ERSO has been recognised by renowned magazines and the recordings have won several prizes, including a Grammy Award. The cooperated with companies such as Chandos, BIS, Onyx etc. Commanding a repertoire that ranges from the Baroque period to the present time, the ERSO has had the honour to premiere pieces by Arvo Pärt, Erkki-Sven Tüür and Eduard Tubin.
