The Oxygen Foundation, Inc. has been launched by members of the Piel Family. Gerard Piel created Scientific American Magazine, Scientific American Medicine and built the publishing empire into 14 international editions before selling to a German publishing conglomerate in 1986. The mission of The Oxygen Foundation is to educate the public on the efficacy and benefits of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, fund research into treatments, and make matching grants to local charities who are supporting HBOT treatments for eligible deserving patients.
