TheCommon.org helps people in communities help each other by connecting people with abilities to people with matching needs inside their community. TheCommon.org originated in the Spring of 2008 as a means to correct a widespread headache among churches – Volunteer management! Passionate about utilizing the web to connect people to share their needs and abilities with one another, founders Rick DeVos and Benjamin Gott developed TheCommon.org. Today our team continues to grow. We are constantly striving to connect people in such a way that they are able to “love their neighbor” and “share everything in common.” We’re motivated by compassion, care and facilitating mission-based and charitable works. We seek to be the place on the web where “abilities meet needs and needs meet abilities.” Our aim is to be ever improving and stream-lining points of contact among people, via the web, with a user-friendly, safe and effective tool.
