Coast Salish Development Corporation (CSDC) is a Canadian corporation headquartered in Ladysmith on Vancouver Island. It is the economic development agency of the Stz’uminus (Chemainus) First Nation and has a land base of more than 1,200 hectares, 11 kilometres of waterfront, and sizeable forestry and aquaculture holdings. The corporation's mandate is to build a $100 million local economy over the next 20 years. CSDC consists of a group companies including - Deer Point Developments, - Ivy Green Petroleum Services, - Thuy’she’num Property Management, - Thuthiqut Resources, - Thuy’she’num Investments and - Coast Salish Aquaculture. Throughout the group of companies, CSDC is committed to supporting community growth, sustainability and environmental protection. CSDC is responsible for managing and steering this growth through economic planning, developing major partnerships and joint ventures, building business relationships with the business community and other First Nations, negotiating partnership arrangements with the Crown and potential private sector partners, marketing, financing, and overseeing the activities of subsidiary businesses.  The cornerstone of the economic development activities is the Oyster Bay Development located on-reserve on Stz'uminus land alongside the Trans Canada Highway. The project started in 2011 and is now under construction with the goal to build a whole new town: Oyster Bay Village. Current tenants include 5 multi-national companies (Esso and Husky gas station, Tim Hortons and A&W restaurant, an 81-room Microtel hotel opening soon), the Ladysmith & District Credit Union, First Nations Health Authority and two Oyster Bay Stores.
