Ruth Morrison is executive director of the Brooklyn International Trade Development Center at Medgar Evers College of the City University of New York (BITDC), a specialized small business development center focused on facilitating the trade and investment endeavors of small and mid-sized companies in the New York metro area. BITDC helps companies with trade and investment strategies by researching potential export markets; researching prospective foreign buyers, agents, distributors and joint venture partners; trade finance and investment opportunities; hosting trade-related seminars and workshops; and promoting and conducting trade missions. BITDC is also an Export Import Bank of the United States City/State Partner and was selected to manage the annual Trade Finance Day for the City/State Partners in 2010.
