We exist to be a CATALYST for business growth, a CONVENER of leaders and influencers, and a CHAMPION for stronger communities. We work with and work for more than 600 member businesses and organizations employing tens of thousands of citizens of the Bedford County region. The Chamber provides an array of benefits and services, including exposure, education, networking and savings programs. The Chamber Foundation also supports economic development by connecting businesses with their future workforce. The 501-c3 educational foundation, supported in part through EITC (Educational Improvement Tax Credit) donations provide programs that foster career exploration, as well as leadership and literacy initiatives. We strive to provide exposure to our business community for students in all grades, from Pre-K through 12th. The Chamber also provides an ongoing series of informational and educational offerings for businesses, including Leadership Bedford County and XLBC (Extreme Leadership), as well as Government: It's Your Business programs and special trainings provided through a premier partnership with Allegany College of Maryland. Through these programs, the Chamber also supports entrepreneurs, while offering low-cost rental space in the historic Russell House, along with a menu of additional start-up resources.
