Partisan is a small, Black-led Community Interest Company; born out of a pull from the community for accessible and culturally-sensitive mental health and wellbeing support, and a push from traditional mental health systems which were not meeting the needs of our most marginalised, stigmatised and excluded communities. Partisan’s vision is simple. A more connected, just and equal world, where mental health and wellbeing support is accessible for everyone. We take a non-pathologizing view of mental health and believe interventions are needed at all levels of the complex system in which children, young people, families and communities find themselves. We make our vision a reality by partnering with people and organisations to understand the local challenges and develop trauma-informed approaches, offer clinical support, and push for systems level change. We develop solutions that are fit for purpose and tailored to meet the complex, specific and localised needs of each community, and join them in the fight for social justice and equity which is weaved throughout everything we do.
