Hallowed Oak Designs
www.hallowedoakdesigns.comMy background: I am a designer/artist/solopreneur who derives inspiration from nature and loves to bring more color into our lives. Both worlds of my technical and creative backgrounds come together in my work. My designs are born on the computer screen via CAD software and evolve into the lively 3D printed and stained glass works you see in the store. Inspiration: Many days spent in childhood basking in the shafts of colored light through the stained glass windows in church has inspired me to delve into the stained glass medium and my 20 years as a Mechanical Designer has left me wondering what cool, creative designs can I make with a 3D printer. Country living, observing nature, traveling, and witnessing the vibrant colors of Springtime, Autumn foliage, a sunrise or sunset: nature's palette is not just there for us to see, but for us to emulate. Why I'm an artist: We all have some sort of creative expression within us to share with the world. We don't need to rely on cheap, outsourced, mass-produced products and trendy, short-term styles to accent our living spaces that often ends up in storage or thrift store shelves. We need some local craftsmanship and the wider varieties of ideas and styles myriad individual artists can provide to put our own personal stamp on our environment. That's my philosophy and I aim to provide.
