Founded in 1939, the Steel Deck Institute is a trade organization. The member companies manufacture steel deck, and associate member companies manufacture products related to the use of steel deck, such as fasteners, acoustic insulation and accessories. The organization activities include publishing design manuals, providing website tools, developing ANSI standards, presenting educational programs and conducting research for the design and behavior of steel deck.
