BreadWorks By Bridges
www.breadworksbybridges.comThe idea of a Bakery (Boulangerie) started when we lived in Paris. We immediately fell in love with the French baguette, which my wife Joyce would buy for the kids each day after school. It became customary for us to ask for two baguettes because one would invariably disappear by the time the kids got home from school... We've always enjoyed bread in its many forms. Ever since we left France, we have been in search of the best baguette you can buy. To our delight, our executive chef for the Bridges Wine Bar, Sal Fernandez, loved the idea of establishing a bakery within Greencastle as a center for creative excellence. Sal was inspired by the French Laundy in California (His roots), an area that now features a very famous bakery called "Bouchon." Sal is a graduate from the Culinary Institute of America and shares our passion for making fine breads to an excellent standard. He recently earned an additional degree in advanced baking from the American Institute of Baking. Together as a team, we are dedicated to bringing a quality bakery into the area. BreadWorks by Bridges is complimentary to our other culinary endeavors in Greencastle, Putnam County and the surrounding countries. Why Donuts? Well, because they are a fantastic taste of our nostalgic past. In our days as DePauw University students, there was a donut shop on campus, which was beloved by the entire community. Unfortunately, it burned down and was never replaced. Since then, we had a yearning to bring donuts back to life for the community and the students of the area. We are committed to BreadWorks rejuvenating the past, bringing donuts back-to-life here in Greencastle! -Joyce and Judson Green
