Through the years, at the water cooler, you have most likely heard Loan Officers talk about their experiences of being “coached” in the Mortgage Industry… some have shared their Good experiences, while many have relayed their Not-As-Good-Sometimes-Downright-BAD experiences. The ‘Not-As-Good’ coaching experiences tend to revolve around a common issue: The coach often lacks critical Street-Level-Know-How of the Mortgage and Real Estate Industries. They haven’t been on the Inside. They don’t know what a 1003 is, and when you say Dodd-Frank, they assume you’re talking about your Uncle. This type of coach may be business savvy, and perhaps they were a successful entrepreneur at one point, but they have not functioned as a Top Originator for their Branch, District, State, Region, Company, etc., and thus they are not prepared to address the varied nuances that accompany Mortgage Origination/RE Sales positions. They can usually offer advice under the heading of ‘general business and/or marketing practices,’ but as you and I know, the Mortgage Industry in 2018 is anything but general. If a Loan Officer or RE Agent wants to make the jump to the Next Level, then consulting with someone that has Actually Done It (albeit with lots of mistakes along the way) becomes THE non-negotiable aspect of the Coach/Client partnership. I’ve been in the Mortgage and RE industries since 1994, having excelled in Origination/Sales, as well as a decade of Multi-State Territory Leadership experience. I had the privilege to lead both Sales and Operations for a talented group of 40-50 individuals. In one 5-year stretch, this ridiculously awesome team AVERAGED over 800 funded Transactions a month, with Dollar Volumes approaching (and sometimes exceeding) ~$2B Annually. Let me be clear: there are a TON of areas of life that I’m not especially gifted in – (completing “handyman fix-it tasks around the house for my wife” is an excellent example) – but I DO know how to help Originators, RE Agents, and Team Leaders, take their production to the highest levels of their career. I LOVE helping folks exceed their Funding/Income Goals, but it’s not what I am most proud of. The Real Blessing is that the vast majority of my clients achieve these higher levels of production, all while REDUCING (often Significantly) the number of hours they spend working, and INCREASING the hours spent with their Families.
