Who are we? The Leadership Partnership of Rhode Island is a group of Rhode Island employers in the manufacturing and related industries, supported by the University of Rhode Island. We received a grant from Real Jobs RI to offer professional development and support to leaders in the industry. The Advisory Board includes Toray Plastics, AstroNova, Taco Comfort Solutions, Dominion Diagnostics, Banneker Industries, and the University of Rhode Island. What are we? We are a sustainable, leadership training program designed to: • Prepare/develop emerging leaders • Support new leaders • Provide opportunities for leaders to participate as mentors • Increase engagement among high potential employees How do we accomplish this? Our training programs have three components: • Formal classroom sessions using competency-based curriculum • Mentoring via a network of manufacturing leaders who have been trained as mentors • On-the-job training provided by supervisors Where are we? Our training location rotates among participating organizations to provide a richer experience for participants by affording them the opportunity to visit other manufacturing organization campuses. When are we doing this? We are recruiting participants for our next session, now! Participation in this program is absolutely free of charge; all materials and supplies are provided. In addition, participants receive a Certificate & CEUs from URI upon completion of the program. Why are we offering this? Our goal is to provide an employee development program for high performers in a manufacturing environment and address the challenge of succession planning in manufacturing companies.
