Spark* is an international not for profit organisation that finds and enables local, emerging changemakers with training, support and funding as they launch ventures to bring people in their communities out of poverty. How do we do this? The SEARCH: We start by finding 15 passionate and intelligent local leaders in each of the countries we work in. These are individuals who are launching projects to bring people in their communities out of poverty. When Spark* finds them, they have typically impacted less than 100 people. The ACCELERATOR – We then provide one week of intensive social entrepreneurship training in country, helping the changemakers refine and strengthen their local ideas. The NETWORK – Beyond the accelerator Spark* provides ongoing support and connection for changemakers to help them improve their project. The FUND – Spark* then raises funds for changemakers to launch and grow their projects. The first round of this is $1000. Further rounds increase as changemakers show their accountability and effectiveness. Spark* supports these changemakers until they are impacting at least 1000 people through their projects.
