The Community Investment Trust (CIT) is a proven, affordable, loss-protected commercial real estate investing model that aims to be an on-ramp to financial inclusion for first-time investors. With a focus on BIPOC, immigrants and refugees, and renters, the CIT builds community connection and economic prosperity in historically marginalized communities. CIT Services offers a step-by-step route from CIT initiation to completion with a proven legal framework, web platform, and investor relations portal. We seek to support local leaders in launching this scalable model across US neighborhoods most affected by systemic racism; through direct coaching in a 10-week feasibility study planning process, to continued support in launching and maintaining a CIT, CIT Services offers guidance to local leaders and organizations interested in establishing a CIT in their own community. Stemming from the pilot CIT in Portland, Oregon, CIT Services sees scaling the CIT as an immediate, sustainable way to support BIPOC communities and set off a ripple effect toward closing the racial wealth gap across the U.S.
