Oasis Cardiff is a charity that provides a Warm Welsh Welcome to refugees and asylum seekers and helps them to integrate into their local community. The centre is open everyday and runs English classes, daily advisory sessions, advocacy forums, various women-only sessions and groups, art classes, sports sessions, and relaxation sessions. We provide free lunch everyday for clients, and are committed to using food to aid integration and to help local people learn about other cultures through projects like The Plate. A key part of our integration work is running regular trips to cultural and sporting places of interest around Wales. This includes visits to local museums and art galleries, sporting activities and Welsh mountains. We support people from across the globe and many walks of life, including people from Afghanistan; El Salvador; Iran; Iraq; Ivory Coast and Sudan, among many other countries. We provide opportunities for clients and members of the public to volunteer with us and engage with supporting the local community.
