Prior to working in the crypto industry, Grant worked for 10 years at a civil and commercial litigation firm in Illinois, handling a wide variety of cases including bankruptcy (debtor and creditor), commercial and corporate litigation, criminal defense, employment (employer and employee), environmental (state and federal) and intellectual property. Before starting his legal career, Grant earned his bachelor’s degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, majoring in philosophy and minoring in computer science. He also served in the United States Army from 1991 to 1994, including a tour in Somalia as part of Operation Restore Hope. He received his law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1998 and passed the Illinois bar exam that same year.
