Since its inception in 1994, the Trust has supported the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital which was threatened with closure due to lack of funding. The Hospital opened in 1956 and is the first dedicated children’s hospital in sub-Saharan Africa. The Trust supports the Hospital through the upgrading and expansion of the Hospital’s buildings, the purchase of state-of-the-art medical equipment, new medical treatment programmes and funds the training of medical professionals across Africa. All ensuring that the Hospital not only retains its world-class stature but is able to continue providing life-changing and life-saving care for ill children. The Trust is funded from an endowment, ensuring that 100% of your donation goes directly to healing ill children. Not a cent is spent on administration or operational staff costs.
