 Our Hedgehog System is a state-of-the-art free floating DC energy system, which unlocks the power potential of the rail catenary. Our system makes it possible for trains, metros and trams to brake regeneratively and to re-use this braking energy. Next to saving braking energy and reducing fine-dust from the mechanical brakes, the system is able to release pressure on the public energy grid and can supply peaks of energy to building or simultaneously charge large numbers of electric buses from its powerful battery pack.  
 Having years of expertise in the field of batteries and electric mobility, in 2012 founder Arjan Heinen (former CEO of E-Traction) studied the loss of braking energy from trains.
