Azerbaijan Educational Network - AzEduNet is the Internet and IT Services Provider for the national academic, research and educational sector in Azerbaijan Republic. It was established in 2008 to continue efforts started by UNDP/AzNET Project (2004-2007) that were targeted on amplification, expansion and provision of conditions for further steady growth of the national academic, research and educational information networks in Azerbaijan. According to the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Azerbaijani ministries of Education and Transport, Communications and High Technologies, AzEduNet LLC is primarily responsible for construction of high-speed corporate educational Intranet and Internet connectivity for academic and educational institutions of Azerbaijan Republic within the framework of the “2008-2012 State Program on ICT for Education in the Republic of Azerbaijan”. AzEduNet's activities within the State Program consist of four main directions: * Network and infrastructure development * LAN installations * Technical support and services * ICT training While the main focus is attached on construction of the corporate educational network, the multi-component structure of activities extends the primary role of AzEduNet from an ordinary Internet service provider to a multi-faceted provider of complex ICT solutions in the education sector.
