WEAVE engages the metropolitan Washington DC community in the elimination of intimate partner abuse and other forms of gender-based violence through empowering, innovative and holistic services. WEAVE provides counseling, legal, case management and education services to survivors of intimate partner violence. Legal staff work with clients on Civil Protection Orders, family law (divorce, custody, child support) and immigration. An extensive network of pro bono attorneys staff weekly legal clinics and provide full representation to clients. Counseling staff provide individual and group therapy for up to one full year. Client advocates work with clients to connect them to community resources for housing, food, clothing, medical care, education and employment. All staff engaged in education and outreach activities including speaking panels, presentations, trainings, fairs, university and college events, and awareness activities.
