Established in 1980s and incorporated in 1985 as Sinostar Limited, the company was renamed as Sinostar International Limited in 1989. Sinostar International Limited is a Hong Kong-based company specialized in organizing industrial exhibitions, publishing bilingual (Chinese & English) trade magazines and offering direct marketing services to a clientele worldwide. Sinostar International Limited has been organizing the "Surface Finishing" & "Coatings" series of Exhibition since 1983. From 1996 onwards, the exhibition was divided into CHINACOAT and SFCHINA. Now, the 2 exhibitions alternate annually between the venues in Guangzhou and Shanghai, P.R. China. In 2019 Shanghai, the net exhibit size of the two exhibitions was over 53,000 sq.m., serving over 1,600 exhibitors and 49,500 trade visitors worldwide. Starting from 2006, CHINACOAT Exhibition Limited, SFCHINA Exhibition Limited, and New Expostar (SZ) Company Limited have been appointed as the Organizers of the exhibitions. Sinostar International Limited is also the publisher of "China Coatings Journal (CCJ)" and "Surface Finishing Journal (SFJ)" — the only official publications for the CHINACOAT and SFCHINA series of Exhibitions. Both bilingual magazines are published in Hong Kong, with major circulation targeted directly to the relevant industry sectors in China and other parts of the world. Since June 2012, CCJ & SFJ have introduced their first E-magazine to their respective industry. In November 2013, Sinostar-ITE International Limited was formed as the new Organizer of CHINACOAT and SFCHINA, and the new publisher of CCJ and SFJ.
