The Global Observer

www.gobserver.net

The Global Observer is Northeastern University’s only international student magazine. It is run by student reporters. We write about issues and experiences that are important to the international student community in the U.S., but are often overlooked and under reported in other publications. Some of these topics include visa issues, fitting into a new culture, and the struggle over one’s identity when moving so far from home. We aim to not only provide a community for international students who may feel out of place in a country so different from their home, but to also offer a unique perspective that is relatively unheard of. We hope to expand the purview of all Americans, whether or not they are students, if they are interested in learning more about global stories and ideas. While we are an international student magazine, we also welcome essays and articles from students of all backgrounds in order to foster debate and greater understanding. Northeastern University and The School of Journalism do not endorse any of the views represented in this magazine. The Global Observer is an independent publication and is not an official source for federal regulatory information about student visas. All inquiries about visas, status and compliance should be directed to The Office of Global Services, or the equivalent office at your institution.
