The Housing Stabilization Initiative (HSI) is a 501(c)(3) non profit formed to combat housing insecurity and the growing wealth gap in Providence, R.I. Our mission of community stabilization and socioeconomic development starts with the identification of negative value assets. The process increases the number of affordable housing units available in Providence, while revitalizing high impact properties. Our team also works with owners to recover value in identified assets when possible. HSI community life improvement programming provides support to tenants to maximize socioeconomic advancement efforts. This approach to community renewal aims to be the industry standard for low, moderate, and full market rate housing.
