We also provide recreational opportunities to newcomer youth where possible. NEARC Inc is a group of diverse professionals dedicated to enhancing newcomer community engagement. It was established in 2014 as a nonprofit organization to serve and work with newcomers to provide economic empowerment initiatives through various capacity building opportunities through employability skills enhancement. We offer a wide range of services and learning opportunities to connect newcomers to a better shape their future in the ever changing Canadian society and help them integrate into Canadian culture. NEARC Inc. works in partnership with other like-minded organizations, thus creating a synergy in actions with limited resources, ensuring positive impetus of service excellence to help newcomer youth. Since early 2018 with its mandate to integrate Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth, we have partnered with Indigenous Organization, Returning to Spirit Inc. Collaboratively, we have developed a project, ‘Pathways to Reconciliation (P2R). This initiative plans to engage wide array of stakeholders to help building the bridges between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities, reducing the residual impacts of colonization, and promoting harmony in the society and lessening the inter-generational trauma of the past collectively. To show our commitment and respect towards our innovative journey towards “Reconciliation”. NEARC Inc. has already inducted an Indigenous member as our Board of Director. NEARC Inc. would endeavor to engage more board members from Indigenous ancestry in future.
