The DC Hokies Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association (VTAA-NCR) serves alumni living in the cities of Alexandria, Falls Church and Fairfax, the counties of Arlington and Fairfax, Virginia; Montgomery and Prince Georges, Maryland and the District of Columbia. It endeavor is to bring local Hokies together through social, networking and volunteer events. There is no fee to join, and if a person went to Virginia Tech and live in the surrounding area, he/she is already a member! It doesn’t matter if new to the area or lived there the entire life—recent graduate or “golden” Hokie—it doesn’t matter! From social events and recreational sports teams to family outings and community services projects, the chapter has something for everyone! With so many members, it strives to provide an array of activities, events, and community service/volunteer opportunities sure to interest everyone. Many of the events are seasonal (football watching parties, intramural sports) or annually (NCR Job Fair, Chili Cook Off and Hokie Open Golf Tournament). Other events happen on a regular basis like the Hokie book club, volunteer events such as blood drives and visits to the Carpenter Shelter, and business/networking happy hours. TAA-NCR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Contributions to the chapter in the United States are tax-exempt to the extent provided by law. VTAA-NCR is registered in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
