SCILT is Scotland's national centre for languages, offering support, expertise and advice. SCILT supports a wealth of language learning and diversity across Scotland’s schools and communities. We achieve this by promoting and supporting high-quality language teaching and learning, and fostering a climate that celebrates all languages. SCILT is funded by the Scottish Government and has a key role in the implementation of the Scottish Government’s 1+2 languages policy. SCILT is based at the University of Strathclyde.
