Newman Shipping & Agency was established in 1912 as Furness Shipping & Agency Cy. Serving numerous Principals in the tramping and the liner trade, the company essentially earned its reputation amongst various state-owned shipping lines, such as C.T.N. (Tunisia), CNAN (Algeria) and COSCO (China). With both COSCO and CNAN a joint-venture was created in respectively 1980 and 1988. Today the initial activities have been extended with NVOCC agencies and charter brokering in the bulk trade.
