Manengkel Solidaritas is a dynamic non-governmental organization. It was founded in 2015 in Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia, by local marine scientists who were concerned about the degrading conditions of our unique coastal and marine environment. Indeed, North Sulawesi Province is situated in the Sulawesi Sea Eco Region and part of the Coral Triangle - the most biodiverse reef system in the world! The region is home to more than 70 species of hard corals and 2,500 species of fish. Unfortunately, many human activities are threatening this precious ecosystem. Manengkel Solidaritas is working towards reducing environmental degradation and providing education to local communities on sustainable marine practices, in order to ensure the protection of this important marine environment.
