The Women in Business society at the University of Sheffield is a relatively new society going into its third year of running. Our aim is to encourage and support women that are aspiring to enter a career in Business, Finance, Commercial Law and more. During the academic year, WiB strives to deliver all the necessary information and skills needed for the members to increase their overall level of confidence and employability. WiB does that through comprehensive workshops, networking events and guest speaker events. Thus, members gain a comprehensive knowledge of the industries they're considering, build important connections and get first hand advice from other women who share their experiences with them. Alongside this, our society runs several fun socials for our members to enjoy and celebrate their achievements. We also aim to have a ball this year in collaboration with other societies with the similar aims and goals. Women in Business has been very successful from the beginning. In its first year, the society was shortlisted for 3 awards: Best New Society, Best Academic Society and Most Enterprising Society and it gained over 140 members. This is just the beginning, the society is growing exponentially to fulfill its goal of supporting and encouraging women that are aspiring to enter a career in Business, Finance or Law.
