Kaity's Way is a non profit organization formed by her parents Ric and Bobbi Sudberry in honor of their 17 year old daughter, Kaitlyn Marie Sudberry, who was murdered by her ex-boyfriend as she arrived home from school. We bring awareness to the issue of teen dating violence and promote healthy relationships through outreach and education. Our goal is to put and end to teen dating violence and create a societal shift towards healthy relationships as the norm. The education we provide is not only for teens but for anyone that has or will have a teenager in their life. Our presentations/workshops provide attendees with a 22 minute fact based story, Kaity's story, of an abusive teen dating relationship on all levels. We then take the audience through certain warning signs that often times fly under the radar for adults and teens, we also discuss the pattern of abuse, what bystanders can do to help, go over options to safely exit an abusive relationship, cover the high points of Kaity's Law, enacted 2009 specifically to provide protection under the law for those in a dating relationships. We conclude every presentation with the elements of a Healthy Relationship utilizing our P.E.A.C.E. Rights and Responsibilities model, created and distributed by Kaity's Way. Outreach includes setting up resource tables at various events, maintaining a comprehensive website and sending out a monthly newsletter, Kaity's Korner. Our program is very flexible in that we have provided dual presentations, we can incorporate breakout sessions. We will even return at a later date or time to address questions or concerns. We do all this currently at no charge to the requester/agency/school/etc within the state of Arizona. If our services are requested outside the state of Arizona we only ask that our travel accommodations are taken care of by the requester/agency/school/etc. We do accept honorariums as we do rely heavily on donations, public support and fundraising.
