The Pennsylvania General Store is a retail, e-commerce and mail-order company specializing in the best of PA made goods & food. We've been at the historic Reading Terminal Market in downtown Philadelphia since 1987. In 2019 we bought a building to house our warehouse and fulfillment center located in Elkins Park. There is also a small retail shop at this location. Our retail locations offer fresh baked Hope's Cookies daily, as well as a wide selection of the finest local chocolates, such as Asher's, Lore's, John & Kira's, Neuchatel, Wilbur, and Eclat. Pennsylvania Dutch crafts and goods can also be found in our stores, including quilts, red ware, and Kitchen Kettle preserves. Metropolitan Bakery goods are sold at Reading Terminal everyday and Elkins Park sells Metropolitan Bakery bread Wednesday-Saturday, along with pastries on Fridays and Saturdays. Walk-in purchase and pre-orders for both are available. We have been serving the Philadelphia area and beyond for 35 years and are proud to support the local network of merchants. Along with our retail locations we offer an array of gift baskets filled with Pennsylvania specialties, which can be ordered online and shipped across the country, or we are happy to hand deliver in the Center City area!
