At the Community Foundation of Shelby County, we help people who want to provide a lasting gift to help the community. We assist donors in creating charitable funds to benefit the regions, causes or organizations of their choosing. Some charitable funds have one donor while others are established by the gifts of many. The Community Foundation connects generosity with need. We provide customized philanthropic solutions and services to donors, which enhances the quality of life in Shelby County. Our donors are individuals, small business, institutions and more, and come from diverse backgrounds and communities throughout Shelby County. We make it comfortable, convenient and cost-effective to give by harnessing our extraordinary flexibility to create a giving vehicle best suited to a donor's goals. The Community Foundation provides solutions to help people and companies make a difference in ways that matter to them. Donors from throughout the area and beyond have established more than 130 charitable funds. We handle scholarships, organization funds, donor advised funds, community granting funds and funds that target an illness, cause, charity or project. Most of our charitable funds are intended to be long term or support the community forever.
