The NSGV was founded at Hilversumsche Golfclub on January 24, 2008. The NSGV was established under the watchful eye of more than 50 guests, including students, sponsors, NGF and partners of the ABN AMRO Student Open 2007. Once the foundation was established, a champagne toast initiated the beginning of the NSGV. The Dutch Student Golf Association is the umbrella body for Student golf associations (SGVs) in the Netherlands. As of January 2008, 900 students from the universities of Groningen, Eindhoven, Maastricht, Nijmegen, Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam and Tilburg are part of the NSGV. The NSGV aims to stimulate student golf in the Netherlands, via SGVs. This includes supporting the SGVs and organizing the student golf championship: the Student Open. The NSGV will also make every effort to realise an SGV in every city. Our strategy and vision consists of the following spearheads: - Handicap registration - www.student-golf.nl as the website for golfing students - Organising the Student Open (NSK) - Expanding the student golf competition In short, we strive to promote golf as much as possible among students in the Netherlands!
