Alabama Kids Code
Alabama Kids Code (AKC), is a nonprofit that exposes students to their possibilities through STEM education. My team and I introduce our students to the 4 disciplines of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), with hands-on activities. We were the first African American team in the state that taught robotics using the FIRST Lego curriculum, we teach an “Intro To Python”, and we have a Science Club for K-8 grade students. Our award-winning program has provided internships and scholarship opportunities, for several high school students that have gone through our programs.
