The Launch Pad Teen Center
www.thelaunchpadteencenter.orgThe mission of The Launch Pad (TLP) is to incite teen confidence and empowerment through innovative community education and engagement. We are a Youth Driven Space (YDS) that centers youth voice and agency in all aspects of programming and decision making. Youth serve on our Board of Directors, take on leadership roles, and all programming is carefully planned by teens and staff, keeping adolescent brain development, and youth interests and needs in mind. Our core programs include: • After School Clubs and Programs, run Monday – Friday that are open to middle and high school students ages 12-18. • Academic Mentoring and Tutoring offers free one-on-one tutoring, and more intensive academic mentoring as needed. • Boys to Men Mentoring provides school-based group mentoring and the rite of passage to young men, supporting their transition from childhood to adulthood. • one.n.ten at The Launch Pad, brings meaningful programming to LGBTQ+ teens in the Quad City Area. • Outdoor Adventure Programs that engage youth in activities such as hiking, rock climbing, canoeing, outdoor cooking, and more. • Week long summer day camps where youth visit local galleries and artists’ studios to work on projects, and take trips to museums; learn practical, real-life skills and are introduced to “adulting”; and get out to canoe, mountain bike, hike, swim, rock climb and camp. • Project Launch includes four (4) 5-hour trainings focusing on youth workforce development, the capstone of which is a summer internship with a local business. • Our Teen Advisory Council (TAC) organizes educational campaigns around issues and challenges facing teens in Yavapai County, and reaches youth through school-based workshops, and after school programs. Each campaign concludes with a pro-social event that builds community and further educates youth. • Our Women’s Empowerment Breakthrough (WEB) Program, offers school-based empowerment training, and a 3-day leadership retreat to young women.
