It introduced the Investing In Communities® program (IIC) to translate real estate transactions into additional dollars for the non-profit community; through IIC, MAP gives an agreed-upon percentage of its commission (paid by the building owner) to its client who then has the option to contribute those funds to a favorite non-profit. If MAP’s client is a non-profit, it keeps the unrestricted IIC funds. Since IIC’s inception in 1995, MAP has donated over $250,000 to more than 50 Chicago non-profits. Having now established Investing In Communities as a separate non-profit corporation, MAP’s founders are growing IIC’s positive impact on the community by expanding its size and scope to incorporate broader participation across the business, non-profit, and education sectors.
