The Central Coast Medical Association is a professional association of physicians throughout Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties who are dedicated to addressing health issues of concern to their patients and their profession. We are a component society of the California Medical Association (CMA) and are affiliated with the American Medical Association (AMA). The Central Coast Medical Association is a merger of the Santa Barbara County Medical Society, founded in 1894, and the San Luis Obispo County Medical Association, founded in 1892. The Central Coast Medical Association represents more than 600 physicians. Our members voluntarily support this organization through annual dues, enabling us to continue to address the health needs of our community. The mission of the Central Coast Medical Association is promoting the science and art of medicine, care and well-being of patients, protection of public health, and betterment of the medical profession.
