The Nigerian Shippers’ Council is an Agency of the Federal Government of Nigeria under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Transportation. It was established by Decree 13 of 1978 now the Nigerian Shippers’ Council Act, Cap. N133 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria (LFN) 2004. The Council is charged with the responsibility to protect cargo interests in Nigeria and to act as the nation’s Ports Economic Regulator.
