Samaritan Way of Michigan, Inc.
www.sam-way.orgThe mission of Samaritan Way of Michigan, Inc. is to provide financial, social, and educational support services for at-risk youth, families and seniors, with programming that extends from one developmental stage to the next. We serve as a staple in the Southeastern Michigan Region to revitalize declining and deteriorated neighborhoods. Specifically, we provide: 1) After-school tutoring, life skills, and entrepreneurial programs to prepare our children for college, careers, economic viability and a brighter future, along with programs to address the epidemic high school drop-out rate in Detroit and surrounding urban communities; 2) "Vision Builders," a character building and mentoring program to provide leadership training to young people and to teach them how to design, organize and plan projects to meet specific goals and to introduce them to careers in business and healthcare; 3) Programs to provide single-parents with the tools to address their family's economic, social and psychological needs; 4) Home rehabilitation programs with a job training component in the skilled trades; and 5) Clean, affordable housing for seniors and low-income families. All of the aforementioned programs are intended to help build stronger, more vibrant communities in the Detroit Metropolitan Area.
