The New York Association of Training & Employment Professionals (NYATEP) is a 501(c)(3) membership organization serving the workforce development community throughout New York State. We provide the leadership, vision and advocacy for a thriving workforce in New York State. Our focus is ensuring that every New Yorker and employer in New York State has access to the skills they need to work in, and support a robust statewide economy. Why Join NYATEP? 1. We Give our Members a Voice Through Advocacy NYATEP keeps you connected – we ensure policymakers, key stakeholders, and the business community understands the value of the work accomplished by our Members. Strategically located in Albany, NY, we monitor and analyze legislation at both the State and Federal level. NYATEP is in continuous contact with Congressional representatives, federal and state Legislators and agencies, and state and local chief elected officials. Through these efforts NYATEP stays on top of proposed legislation that impacts our Members. We communicate our findings through issue calls and email updates, ensuring members are informed and can actively participate in strategic responses. 2. We Increase our Member's Knowledge To keep pace with an ever evolving workforce environment, professional development is a must. NYATEP offers Members several ways to maintain and expand their knowledge base including conferences, webinars, Special Issue Calls, regional meetings, and much more. NYATEP can even help you design a training to specifically meet your organization’s needs. 3. We Pursue Progress to Advance the Field NYATEP aims to stay ahead of the curve on workforce advancements. From piloting initiatives to cutting-edge research, we strive to continue to provide the information and first hand intelligence our Members and their partners. Recent initiatives include the Employer Survey on Apprenticeship; the 2017 State of the Workforce report; and participation in the NYS STEM Hub network.
