WEEMA International is a non-governmental organization working in southwestern Ethiopia. Our goal is to work with local communities to create conditions in which people can thrive and dream about a brighter future. When WEEMA International begins working with a community, we start by asking the most basic of questions, “What do you need?” We try to be true allies, allowing the community to determine its priorities and set the agenda. With an agenda in place, we begin fundraising for and implementing the projects and initiatives that will turn the community’s collective dreams into realities.
