Since 1997 Invest in Youth has partnered with Seattle Public Schools to enhance the academic performance, self-confidence and life prospects of local elementary students. Volunteer tutors are paired with a 3rd, 4th or 5th grade student for a full school year, at no cost to the students or schools. Tutors and students meet one day a week for an after-school tutoring session, held at the student's school. Sessions last one hour and time is spent on homework, writing, reading and math.
