Breast Cancer Research Trust
www.breastcancerresearch.org.nzThe Breast Cancer Research Trust uses evidence based research advances, to provide those diagnosed with breast cancer the best treatments, practices and outcomes. Founded in 2000, the Breast Cancer Research Trust (BCRT), is involved in local and international research trials, which focus on using the latest research advances to prevent and cure breast cancer. To date, the research team, led by Chair and Breast Cancer Surgeon, Professor Ian Campbell, has participated in more than 45 clinical trials, providing women/wāhine throughout New Zealand (and internationally), with access to leading-edge protocols and therapy. The Breast Cancer Research Trust and Waikato District Health Board do not receive any government funding for breast cancer research. With each clinical trial costing at least $200,000 to run we rely on fundraising, donations, grants and sponsorship to ensure we can continue our evidence-based breast cancer research. With your support we will be enabled to continue to work with international breast cancer research organisations, to run clinical trials for improved chances of earlier diagnosis, prevention and increased survival. Research is the best weapon we have to fight breast cancer. By providing wāhine/women with access to clinical trials, we can advance our knowledge of breast cancer, discover best-practice treatments, and get patients the outcomes they hope so desperately for.
