The MILO Space Science Institute
www.miloinstitute.orgMILO is modeled after the L’SPACE program created for the NASA Lucy Mission. It is a research collaborative led by Arizona State University (ASU), with support from Lockheed Martin. MILO’s primary objectives are to create access to space exploration, build up local space science ecosystems, and develop the next generation of space science investigators. Workforce Development: The Mission Academy provides unique, hands-on learning and insight into the dynamic world of space. Students learn mission procedures and protocols from industry professionals as they collaborate with fellow team members to complete mission-related team projects. Each 12-week academy is linked to Milo Institute missions and helps participants gain relevant skills. Startup Development: Startups advance through a Space Venture Studio, supporting the maturation of payloads and business models. Teams build functioning prototypes of their designs and demonstrate performance before flight build and integration. Access to Space Missions: Rideshare missions enable more scientists, engineers, and students to participate in deep space missions with high science returns. The Milo Project Office provides subject matter experts who support mission assurance and operations. [email protected]
