The Seaflower Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in the island of San Andres, Archipelago of San Andres, Providence and Santa Catalina, in the Western Caribbean. Declared by UNESCOS Man and Biosphere Program as the Seaflower Biosphere Reserve in November of 2000, Seaflower Protects 180,000 km2 of marine ecosystems, including the Wolds third biggest coral reef barrier. Seaflower is a marine biodiversity hotspot that protects more than 2500 species, including endangered, migratory, endemic and rare species. Our mission at the Seaflower Foundation is to protect this great biodiversity by developing, promoting and supporting scientific research, conservation programs and environmental education campaigns related with the conservation of marine ecosystems, especially those located in the Seaflower Biosphere Reserve.
