Centre ESPOIR Quebec offers Education and Professional Services to Immigrants and Residents of Quebec. The main services are: - To provide assistance for the integration of newly arrived immigrants in Quebec by offering them temporary shelter, assistance in searching for permanent lodging and French education classes; - To provide assistance to the community by offering guidance counselling services regarding the choice or advancement of careers, professions, or employment, assistance in searching for employment and by organizing workshops and offering courses with respect to same; - To provide assistance to the community by the establishment of non-profit day care, communal baby-sitting services and day camps for children; - To provide assistance to elderly members of the community by offering, to those in need, non-profit care giving services for their homes and companionship through social visits by volunteers or paid employees; - To promote education and health by organizing conferences dedicated to cultural and religious topics among others; - To provide assistance in the form of guidance counsellors and group activities for young members of the community in order to prevent or end delinquency and substance abuse; - To provide assistance in the form of guidance counsellors and tutors to assist young members of the community with academic difficulties; - To provide relief to the poor by collecting and offering food, clothing, and furniture to those in need; - To provide marital and family counselling services to members of the community experiencing such problems; - To provide administrative services and office work assistance to the community.
