The major concern of CYDF is the Malnutrition issue which is prevalent among people from all income status. Termed as “the hidden hunger”, can affect the economy of the country. Considering this, CYDF wants to launch premium food products that don’t compromise the nutrition aspect. Food is nutritious when its grown organic or under natural farming way! To encourage this CYDF pays premium price to its farmers and farmer producer groups, who stand along with it in growing crops organically or under natural farming concepts. The grains are value added into functional foods with nutraceutical value in our small bootstrapped food processing Unit. The unit is located in an area where majority of the women are in to beedi-making and are from low income families. CYDF has employed women from this community after giving them proper training in handling of food grains. CYDF produces a wide range of millet based food products which can counteract micronutrient deficiency in people of all ages. The products range includes a. Ready to Eat food: Millet flake granola bar, millet cookies, cakes, Millet breakfast cereal packs, b. Ready to cook Food packs: These are mostly Research and Development Based products which ensure nutraceutical value for the consumers. Being Rich in fibre, they are processed carefully under hygienic conditions. Other products include moringa leaf products, Millet noodles, whole Millet with lentils and spices Mix(pongal Mix) and many more… 2. CYDF invests its profit in organising softskill sessions, sport training sessions and expert sessions on weekends to children and youth from low income families. Also a glass of health drink is sponsored for 240 days in an year. CYDF runs volunteering projects as well sponsor projects to raise funds for the same.
