Dhahran Ahliyya Schools
www.das.sch.saEstablished in 1977 by Khalid Ali Alturki and Dr. Sally Alturki, Dhahran Ahliyya Schools (DAS) is a private, not-for-profit, dual-language, K-12 school. Our passion for incubating innovation drives us to provide a world-class education with an Arab and Islamic identity through a pioneering learning community that is sustainable and socially responsible. We empower each student to be compassionate, thinking, lifelong, bi-lingual learner who makes a positive difference, locally and globally. Honored to be an IB World School and accredited by AdvanceEd, DAS has been authorized for IBPYP and IBMYP. Our strategy for achieving our vision as a professional learning community is to involve all teachers in an ongoing program of reflection, support groups, coaching, job-embedded training, and group planning. Guided by this plan, we link our professional development, performance evaluation, and compensation in a comprehensive program that is sustainable, coherent, intense, active, collaborative and standards-based. DAS is located in the Eastern Provence of Saudi Arabia in the city of Dhahran near the Arabian Gulf. Our purpose-built facilities encompass over 78,000 square meters and include media centers, updated Makerspaces, spacious gymnasiums, fully stocked science laboratories, staged theater, numerous playgrounds, and an outdoor sports complex which features a football field, tennis court and running track. Providing education to over 2000 students consisting of both national dependents of Saudi Aramco employees and the local community, we have a 99% success rate of our graduate’s acceptance into prestigious local, international, and ivy league universities. We take great pride in our consistent participation and top placement of national and international events such as Math & Science Olympiads, VEX & FLL Robotics, International Science & Engineering Fairs, and athletic & debate league competitions.
